The Directorate of Physical Planning and Infrastructure is responsible for guiding sustainable urban development through effective physical planning, development control, land administration, housing coordination, and infrastructure development. The Directorate ensures orderly growth, efficient land use, safe infrastructure, and compliance with planning and development standards across Nakuru City.

As a key technical directorate within the city administration, it plays a central role in creating a well-planned, connected, resilient, and investment-friendly urban environment.

Directorate Mandate

To plan, regulate, coordinate, and promote sustainable physical development, land management, housing initiatives, and infrastructure development that support the economic growth and liveability of Nakuru City.

Directorate Structure

The Directorate Leadership and Coordination Unit comprises officers responsible for strategic planning, programme coordination, monitoring, policy implementation, and administrative oversight across the Directorate.

The Directorate comprises four technical sections that work collaboratively to support orderly urban development and infrastructure delivery.
