Tomorrow’s Cities worked with the City of Nakuru to strengthen capacity for multi-hazard, risk-informed planning and decision-making. The initiative seeks to move cities from responding to disasters after they occur towards planning and development approaches that anticipate and reduce risks.
With support from UN-Habitat, a workshop was conducted at Soilo ATC between September 2 and 30, 2024. The programme built the capacity of city staff and promoted behaviour change among residents to support zoning and structure plan implementation while addressing the impacts of climate change and associated hazards.
