Friedrich Ebert Stiftung Kenya has partnered with the City Board since 2021 to support participatory urban development and inclusive planning. Together with Citizen Architects, FES supported the development of the Bondeni Model, which was showcased at the London Festival of Architecture.
The partnership has also supported the development of a utility plan for the KMC settlement, helping guide interventions including floodlight installation and sanitation projects. The collaboration demonstrates the value of participatory planning and community engagement in improving living conditions within informal settlements.
